Short answer: probably, but there is no single number. Your cost per lead is $52.40 over the last 30 days. Published B2B benchmarks for Meta vary a lot by source: roughly $60 to $180 a lead, with all-industry averages near $28. I can’t tell where you stand among accounts like yours.

Short answer: not for accounts like yours. Your cost per lead is $52.40, which puts you in the bottom third of 186 B2B accounts like yours over the last 30 days. Their middle value is $41.30, and the middle third pay between $37.20 and $45.40.

Both chats are made up, and so are the numbers and the tool calls. The first is modelled on a real answer from October 2026: the ranges and the kinds of source are the ones Claude found. Shown in Claude: Markindex works in ChatGPT and other assistants too.

What you can ask

  1. Where you are in the mix. How your key numbers, such as cost per click, cost per lead and return on ad spend, compare with your peers right now.
  2. Whether it is you or the market. How your last 30 days compare with the market’s, and whether advertising is getting more expensive or cheaper in your segment.
  3. How top performers are set up. How they structure their accounts, split their budget, target and bid, and which of Meta’s automation settings they have switched on.
  4. What they communicate. Which offers, angles, hooks and calls to action are most common among them, and which are becoming more common.
  5. What they do each week. How often they make changes, how many new ads they launch and how much they test.
  6. What is happening right now. What has changed in your peers’ behaviour over the last 30 days, for example in the lead-up to Black Friday.

Planning lead-generation tactics for a B2B account.

In order of impact for an account your size:

  1. Optimize for the lead, not the click. Use the Leads objective, optimized for your signup event.
  2. Consolidate. Run one campaign and one ad set with a broad or Advantage+ audience. Meta’s algorithm needs around 50 conversions per week per ad set to stabilize.
  3. Improve the offer. A free trial, a free tool or a sample report converts far better than “book a demo.”
  4. Test creative concepts, not variations. Test 3–5 genuinely different angles, such as a pain point, an outcome or a product demo.
  5. Raise landing page conversion. Doubling the page’s conversion rate halves CPL.
  6. Try Instant Forms. Meta’s native lead forms are often cheaper per lead, but quality is lower.
  7. Retarget site visitors. It’s cheap and converts better.
  8. Judge by cost per customer. Check which ads produce paying users, not just form fills.

Short answer: launch more ads, in fewer ad sets, with a different offer. That is where you differ from the 62 accounts with the lowest cost per lead, out of 186 B2B accounts like yours:

  1. New ads. They launch about 4 a week. You launch 1, and so do the rest.
  2. Ad sets. They run 3. You run 11.
  3. Offer. 58% lead with a free tool or a report. Your ads all ask for a demo.

Instant Forms are not what sets them apart: about a third of both groups use them.

The 41 accounts whose cost fell while the group’s rose 6% point the same way. 71% launched three or more new ads in the two weeks before.

Both chats are made up, and so are the numbers and the tool calls. The first is modelled on a real answer from October 2026, shortened. Asked where the advice came from, Claude said: general knowledge of Meta advertising, not sources it looked up.

What you get back

  1. An answer where you asked. Your assistant makes the search and works the answer out from what it finds. You read it in the same chat.
  2. Your position as a band. Top, middle or bottom of your peer group, next to the group’s middle value. A fair picture, not a false precision.
  3. Accounts like yours. Your assistant picks who to compare you with: B2B or B2C, leads or sales, and your spend level.
  4. Something you can check. Your assistant can say which kind of accounts an answer covers, how many, which period and how each number is worked out.
  5. Real and current. Answers come from live ad accounts, not from surveys, articles or old reports.
  6. Never names. No names of companies, accounts, campaigns or ads. We never say who is doing well.

The index starts with accounts from our own network. Comparisons will be broad at first and become more precise as it grows.

How it works with your AI assistant

  1. You add it once. Add Markindex to your assistant in one step, by signing in.
  2. It is not another assistant. The same Markindex user works in Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants, so you are not tied to one.
  3. You ask as you always do. Ask something broad, such as “How are my ads doing?”, and your assistant searches the index when the answer needs the market.
  4. Your own numbers stay with Meta. Reporting on your own account is the job of Meta’s own connector. We recommend you use it next to Markindex.
  5. We only read. You connect your Meta ad account to be placed in the mix. Markindex never changes anything in it.
  6. There is a web app too. It shows where you stand and how you have developed against the market. What top performers do is answered through your assistant.
